SANAA, 15 Nov — Director of the Media Section at the state-commissioned Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption (SNACC), Yassin Abdu Saed Sunday reviewed with a delegation from the German Development Agency, GTZ the role of both his authority and the Central Organization for Control and Audit (COCA) in protecting public funds, the government official daily, al-Thawra said. He briefed the delegation headed by Bernad Moiler [sp.] the laws enacted to combat corruption and monitor public funds and reviewed steps and measures taken by SNACC to fight corruption saying “the authority and COCA have broad jurisdictions to protect public funds,” and pointed out “the serious steps taken by the authority in following up with corruption issues including investigations and court proceedings,” adding “the reports of the Central Organization for Control and Audit constitute major references for violations and deviations committed by some entities,” and urged “support and participation of the international organizations to assist national efforts aimed at combating corruption and boosting transparency.”
