TEHRAN, 15 Nov — Members of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly [Majilis] Sunday condemned what they described as “Saudi brutal massacres of Muslims in Yemen.” A statement signed by 250 Iranian lawmakers said “we as the representatives of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the signers of this statement condemn the cruel killing of Muslims in Yemen and we want all sympathetic officials in the Islamic world as well as the Islamic groupings and organizations, particularly the Organization of Islamic Conference, to utilize all their potential to stop this tragedy and put an end to the killings,” adding “at a time the Zionist regime, under the auspices of some powers like the United States, is explicitly denying Palestinians’ rights, Muslims should defend the oppressed Islamic nations. And what is more shocking and reprehensible is the cruel attacks against Muslims in Yemen.” “Killing Yemeni people by Saudi Arabian fighter jets is only benefiting Islam’s enemies,” said the statement. Meanwhile, the Iranian parliament speaker, Ali Larijani Sunday lambasted Saudi Arabia for attacking the rebels saying “how could they kill innocent people during the Haj season?” adding “the United States is probably involved in the military campaign and this is not acceptable.”
